Bright and breezy beach kitchen
This apartment on the Sunshine Coast was due for a refresh. The old brick unit block is set in an amazing location just a short walk from the beach so a bright and breezy look was on the cards. The old kitchen was really starting to show it’s age and the layout definitely did not vibe with the young couple Kate and Matt.
So we decided to start by changing up the layout. Starting with addition of an island bench with a breakfast bar as the centrepiece of a L shaped kitchen. The brief from Kate and Matt was not to encroach too much on the entry of apartment and leave plenty of room in the transition between the open plan dining and living area. In the end we have really succeeded in making the most of the available space, while keeping the apartment feeling open.
The joinery is complete and I’m really looking forward to seeing this apartment with the flooring and pendant lighting in.
This kitchen was finished in Polar White Gloss with accents of Coastal Oak both by Polytec. I’m a big fan of Polytec I love their colours and finishes. The Coastal Oak colour is a part of their Woodmatt Finish. Woodmatt has an exceptional real wood textured feel and is available in lots of great looks. It’s such a great choice for a solid timber replacement and perfect for those who like to be hands on with their joinery.
